Restoration completed!  My friend was very pleased to see his dad's work restored fairly close to the condition he remembers as a small child.

I really enjoyed this project, mainly because it seemed to mean a lot to someone.

I just hope none of my ships ever come to the condition this ship was in when it was brought to me.

All of the stern sections removed, cleaned and re-fitted.
Waist area coming surprisingly clean.  Note the very simple gun placements.... no rigging, no carriage trucks (thank goodness for that).
After much cleaning with strong solvents and then flushing with clean water.
With her sails removed, I was able to clean and re-stain and re-paint all of her wood surfaces.
The sails were completely removed along with their spars.
